Die au\u00dferordentlich fein gemalte Ikone zeigt im Zentrum die B\u00fcste des hl. Nikolaus. Diese Malerei aus der Zeit um 1600 wurde in das Holz -vermutlich von Malern aus Palech- um 1800 eingesetzt und mit Szenen aus der Vita des Heiligen erg\u00e4nzt. Oberhalb des Heiligen sind Christus und die Gottesmutter aufgemalt. Die Vitaszenen zeigen die Geburt des hl. Nikolaus, seine Taufe, die Heilung einer Frau mit einer verdorrten Hand, den Schulbesuch bei seinem Onkel, einem M\u00f6nch, seine Weihe zum Bischof, die Errettung der drei Jungfrauen, die Erscheinung im Traum des Kaisers Konstantins, die Rettung dreier unschuldig zum Tode Verurteilter, die Rettung des Demetrios aus dem Wasser, die Befreiung eines Christensklaven aus der Hand der Sarazenen, sein Tod, die \u00dcberf\u00fchrung seiner Reliquien nach Bari und die Errettung des Patriarchen Athanasios aus Seenot.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The very fine painted icon shows the bust of St. Nicholas in the centre. This painting from the period around 1600 was inserted into the wood -probably by painters from Palekh- around 1800 and supplemented with scenes from the life of the saint. The vita shows the following scenes: Birth of St. Nicholas, his baptism, the healing of a woman with a withered hand, his school-time, his consecration as bishop, the salvation of the three virgins, his apparition in the dream of Emperor Constantinos, the rescue of the three innocent people sentenced to death, the rescue of Demetrios from the water, the liberation of a Christian slave from the Saracens, his death, the translocation of his relica and the rescue of Patriarch Athanasios.<\/p>\n
