Kapitel) die Geschichte der drei j\u00fcdischen M\u00e4nner  Schadrach, Meschach und Abed-Nego, welche das goldene Bild  Nebukadnezars nicht anbeten wollten. Zur Strafe wurden sie in den Schmelzofen  geworfen, entstiegen ihm aber unverletzt. Ihre Errettung wird in der christlichen Exegese als Sinnbild der Auferstehung gedeutet. Als Bildmotiv ist es schon in der fr\u00fchchristlichen Sepulkralkunst zu finden, als Einzelmotiv ist es auf Ikonen jedoch eine Seltenheit.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">In Daniel, Chapter 3, the three young Jewish men Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were sent into a blazing fiery furnace, because they didn&#8217;t want to adore the golden image of Nebuchadnezza.\u00a0 The consequence for not worshiping the idol was the execution in a fiery furnace. But the three young men went out unviolated. According to the Christian exegesis their deliverance is a symbol of resurrection.
