Die seltene Ikone illustriert einen Hymnus der orthodoxen Liturgie mit dem Titel „Das Band der Liebe“. In einer rautenförmigen Komposition sind die Apostel abgebildet, in den vier Ecken herum die Symbole der Evangelisten. Das alle umschlingende Band hat folgenden Hymnus aufgeschrieben: „Durch das Band der Liebe verbunden, gaben die Apostel sich Christus hin, dem Herrscher über das All, und ließen die erhabenen Füße sich waschen, aller Welt den Frieden verkündend.“ Am oberen Rand ist mittig der segnende Christus zu sehen.
The rare icon illustrates a hymn of the orthodox liturgy with the title „The Union of love“. The apostles are pictured in a rhombical composition. The symbols of the four evangelists are depicted around. The banner which is winded around the apostles and evangelists has the following inscription: „Bound through the union of love, the apostles gave themselves to Christ, the ruler of all. They allow their feet to be washed and proclaim peace to the whole world.“ Above the blessing Christ is shown.
