Dieses Sujet, welches oft auch integriert ist in russische Darstellungen des Jüngsten Gerichts, gründet sich auf Matth. 8,11-12: „Viele werden von Osten und Westen kommen und mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob im Himmelreich zu Tische liegen, die Söhne des Reiches aber werden hinausgestoßen werden in die Finsternis.“

More righteous are standing in the background. This subject, which is also often integrated in Russian presentations of the Last Judgement, is based on Matthew 8,11-12: „Many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.“
